Why must I pay to play?
Firstly, if you want to learn something new, getting a teacher to teach you, will cost you something. Secondly, Tantra is not playing! Oh yes, it is very enjoyable and there can be a lot of playing as you go along, but Tantra is highly professional, holistic work and it is about healing and teaching, about moving your energy and conscious breathing as well as sexual techniques and it is about a lot more too. Just think how wonderful it can be, enjoying while you are learning and healing!
Tantra teachers are not just teachers, they are tantrickers, living a tantric life in every sense of the word. Meditation, conscious breathing and energy work are just some of the things incorporated into their daily lives. Their training is extensive, costly and on-going. A tantriker knows, there are always new experiences to be made and new things to learn, so he/she is constantly in this process as part of daily life.
So the answer to the question is: you pay a qualified tantric practitioner to assist you with your healing and learning and while you are healing and learning, it can feel like playing - so go for it and enjoy and while you are enjoying you will grow not only sexually, but as a whole person.
