On Tantra being a journey

The study and practice of Tantra is a journey, with ever-changing scenery and moods. Due to an image portrayed by the media, many people believe that Tantra means... sex, a religion, naked people frolicking on large mattresses, sarong-clad couples, cross-legged on cushions, gazing adoringly into each others' eyes displaying an impressive collection of incense, candles and phallic sculptures the draping of Indian bedspreads and lambskin rugs...
This limited perception causes many people to shy away from exploring a rich world of meditation, healing, personal exploration and insight. There Iis such a thing as Tantric Sex of course. This would be practiced with a lover or a tantric partner. However many single people can enjoy and benefit from a wonderful variety of tantric methods and processes.

One can bring a Tantric energy to something, or a Tantric ambience, but these qualities are impossible to define and could mean one thing to one Tantrika and something else to another. So, in other words, it's a path you decide to step onto. You create the path, the pace and the depth of the journey.
